Too precious not to post

Here's a RARE shot of my kids all happy & smiling...at the same time!! We were at Cory's "Engineer's Day" picnic with the Army Corps of Engineers. We found a shady spot next to the water and the kids had their fill of popsicles and treats.

Ben at Jackson Christian Basketball Camp

Ben had his first introduction to basketball this week at Jackson Christian's Basketball Camp with my Dad (aka Papa or Coach Thornton). Here are a few pics that Papa took of Ben in action.

Take a good look at the bleachers in this picture...You can see Jake playing in the bleachers!! Papa invited Jake to hang out one day at camp. He really enjoyed being Papa's shadow!

Jake's End of Season Party

We had Jake's End of Season party for his t-ball team last week. Cory was the coach and really enjoyed it. I feel like Cory has really found his niche as a tball coach. He's so patient with him and has so much to offer kids who are just learning how to play. Either way - he found something nice to say about each kid and asked each one of them what was their favorite moment of the year. Jake's answer was "being in outfield" -- go figure ;)

Ben's MONSTER Cabbage

Here's a picture of the MONSTER cabbage that Ben planted and is STILL growing for a contest at school. He came home with it in a paper "Bonnie Plants" cup with a note that there would be a photo contest in the fall when they return to school. The winner receives a savings bond - but I don't think he cares. He's so thrilled at how big it's gotten!! He's watered it himself and makes sure to show it to anyone who comes into our backyard. We decided to capture the moment before the bugs turn it into a buffet. Coleslaw, anyone???
