SPRING BREAK!!!

We attempted to go to the Memphis Zoo (which has just been rated America's #1 Zoo) yesterday and - apparently - we weren't the only ones with this fabulous idea! FYI: On Tuesdays (at 2pm) at the Memphis Zoo, Tennessee residents get in free w/a valid TN driver's license. We met some friends from church early to eat at McDonald's and then we headed toward the zoo. Note that I said "toward" the zoo...The line of traffic was unbelievable!!!! I heard from friends who actually made it inside and they said it was so crowded that they couldn't even see some of the animals in the exhibits. So - we gave up sitting in traffic and went to a nearby park (kids pictured below). I think they managed ok, don't you?? The weather was beautiful (mid 70s) and we're loving it!!

New Orleans - Day One

I've tagged along with Cory to New Orleans for this week. He's here for meetings and I have plans to catch up on long-awaited projects and just time to myself. If being alone in a quiet hotel room doesn't sound like "fun" to you - you must not have 3 kids to tend to :) Anyway, here's a picture of Cory as we came out of Deanie's in New Orleans. We had a 1/2 dozen chargrilled oysters, then a 1/2 platter of FRIED SEAFOOD that we couldn't finish between the two of us!! So - that's why Cory's grabbin' his belly...sooooo stuffed! Then, we walked it off on Bourbon Street. Just wanted to "take in the sights" - or somethin' like that.

Wacky Wednesday - "It's Nice to Share"

Snowy Sunday

I neglected to post a "Wacky Wednesday," so...here's a "Snowy Sunday." We've gotten about 6 inches of snow here in Germantown and have made the most of it for sure. We'd spend 20 minutes getting everyone all bundled up to only spend 10 minutes out there at a time. What fun for Mommy though!

We also made snow cream for the first time. Below are pics of the boys & Cory. Our snow cream recipe: 6 cups of CLEAN snow, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, & 1 tsp vanilla. It tasted EXACTLY like homemade ice cream. To quote my sweet Jake, it was "dewicious."
