THIS is when I'm proudest of my Ben. He doesn't even know how his gift of music pleases others. We do the services at a convolescent home once every 3-4 months and on this day, he played a few songs on the piano following the services. Thank you, Lord, for his gift.
Lil' miss started her preschool last week and was just...well...giddy! The boys have been in school for a few weeks and she could not WAIT for it to be her turn! We are so thankful for her to be in a program that prides themselves in letting kids be kids and teaching a daily Bible curriculum. What a blessing! What a joy!
Meanwhile, we've been knee, shoulder, & waist deep in a kitchen renovation. Will be posting pics soon!
Happy Birthday to my husband who calls me "Joyful." Today is his birthday and what is he doing? He's finishing up preparing the walls of our kitchen so I can begin painting. He's always planning a project, working on a project, or enjoying a finished project. Such a hard-working, devoted, loving, supportive, and FUN father & husband.
Don't you just love this picture? This was taken in 2005 and our 2nd child was just eaten up w/his Daddy. My hard-working man was about to leave to help the hurricane clean up efforts in Mobile for a month. We ALL missed him, but it changed my lil' man for a while.
Birthday Boy - Thanks for always doing what you can to keep us feeling joyful! We love you
I've been featured on one of my favorite crafting blogs, SOMEDAY CRAFTS. I contributed to her "Back 2 School Bash," a week of back-to-school projects, ideas, and tips! This blog is one that I check almost daily. It's become part of my new addiction that I call 'blog browsing.' If someone would feed & bathe my children, I could do it all day! Happy Saturday...enJOY!
Who's ready for Back to School??? Meeeeee! I'm so dreadfully behind on some of my sewing projects. I was inspired to create this print that I'm going to hang over my sewing machine in my craft room.
I'm JOYFUL about back to school and want to "treat" the teachers a bit. Here are some water bottle labels that I created to tape onto the bottles (after removing the existing label) and attach a drink mix (not pictured). I used yellow & green polka dot because those are our school colors. Boy designs are on page 1, Girl designs are on page 2. Happy Back 2 School, joyful people!
In an effort to try to do more listening than talking (surprise), this book was recommended by a friend of mine. I had expressed to her that I truly want to be about what my Father wants for my life. She said that this book would truly speak to me, and it HAS! I would recommend one for everyone's bedside tables!
Here's what "spoke" to me today:
"To follow Me wholeheartedly, you must relinquish your desire to please other people. However, your closeness to Me will bless others..."
The JOY of SV youth camp came and went so fast that it was just a blur -- but a happy blur. I enjoyed every minute..even the busy ones. I've had lots of jobs in my time, but never had any as busy as working in the crafts house. At 12:30 on Monday when crafts began, I had no idea I'd be going BACK to Walmart that evening for more supplies! I had two awesome helpers who quickly became friends. You know, sometimes you just feel like you were MEANT to meet someone? That's how I felt about these 2 ladies - just as crazy as I am...love you Robin & Allison! Also, can't go through an adventure without my good friend, Steph being there..love you, girl!

More importantly, we spent the week exploring "What Faith Can Do." Our theme for the week was "FAITH: Just do it" and we explored James 2:22, discussing how we should live out our faith in our actions.
Our theme song was "What Faith Can Do" by Kutless.
The big question for me was "Will you do this again next year?"
"Consider it pure joy" (James 1:2). Finding JOY in the little things - especially life with my 3 little ones and life with hubby. Finding JOY in sewing, crafting, living, and doing!
